Red Bull Confirms Significant 2026 Driver Seats: Hadjar Steps Up, Teenager Arvid Lindblad Earns Formula 1 Seat.

The Austrian squad has revealed a new line-up for the 2026 Formula 1 season, elevating Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its senior team and awarding British teenager Arvid Lindblad his maiden F1 drive.

The young driver, who comes from a mixed Swedish-Indian background, is set to become the partner of New Zealander Liam Lawson at the junior outfit Racing Bulls.

This reshuffling means Japan's Yuki Tsunoda exiting the grid post a half-decade in F1.

Who is Arvid Lindblad?

The youngster was tagged as a rising talent by Red Bull since he was 12 years old.

Regarding the team's young driver programme, a key advisor previously said that Lindblad "looks really promising", praising his "natural quickness".

The team has been working for some time to prepare Lindblad for his potential Grand Prix bow in 2026, including runs in Grand Prix practice at Silverstone and Mexico City.

Lindblad stated it was a "huge honour", commenting: "2026 will be a huge step, and I know there's much to understand, but I'm eager to collaborate with the team and meet the challenge. I can't wait to get started."

He has won a couple of victories in F2 this year and is P6 in the standings ahead of the final round in Abu Dhabi.

The Frenchman's Chance

Hadjar's F1 career began in difficult fashion when he crashed during the warm-up lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. But, from that point, he has emerged as one of the stand-out rookies of the year.

He featured an excellent top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits 10th in the drivers' standings.

A senior team figure commented: "Hadjar has displayed impressive growth and proved to be a fast adapter. Crucially, he has the innate pace that is the primary necessity in this sport. We believe he can succeed alongside Max."

The promoted driver called it "a fantastic step" and said he felt "prepared".

Tsunoda's Exit

To partner Lindblad at the junior team, Red Bull have preferred Lawson instead of Tsunoda.

Lawson began the season with the main team but was moved back after just two races. However, he has found his form at the junior outfit with notable results, convincing Red Bull he deserves another season.

Tsunoda, meanwhile, has been ejected after a difficult season. His best result is a P6, and he has accumulated a small fraction of the team's constructors' championship.

The driver market moves mean that there is also no spot on the Red Bull academy for Irish driver Alex Dunne, who will continue in F2 next season.
